Air-2 Vapir Digital Vaporizer

Last year, the vaporizer world was turned on its ear when the Vapir digital vaporizer by Air-2 was released. The Vapir uses microchip technology and a ceramic heating element to deliver a modern user experience to the world of vaporization.   The unit is constructed from some kind of space age plastic that looks cool and feels great.  The unit also has a little window at the top...you can't see vapor in there, but the light looks cool through the clear plastic window.

Here is what the people at Air-2 have to say about their vaporizer:

The air˛™ VAPIR™ system utilizes a state-of-the-art convection technology to heat herbal matter. Hot air is blown through a disk implanted with herbal material such as tobacco and other plants commonly used in aromatherapy. The hot air induces the material to release its full flavor along with its active and volatile elements. This easy to inhale vapor cloud is achieved without burning of the material.

One of the biggest drawbacks to the Vapir is the high price. The cordless units go for around $300, which is $100 less than they started at.  I personally find the unit to be a bit cumbersome and the herb disks that it uses are kind of a pain to keep loading and unloading...especially when they are hot. But, the biggest drawback is the 20 minute heating cycle. The unit will automatically stop heating after 20 minutes. This could  be a good safety precaution, but I see it as a hassle.
